Message from Dave Cavanagh of the Vale of White Horse Ramblers group:
The Vale Path Volunteers (VPV) group have pruned along Faringdon FP17, the path that goes from near the town centre, along Volunteers Way, then over Park Road to Wicklesham. (The VPV is the path maintenance team of the VOWH Ramblers group.)
Brambles had reached the ground from up above on the town end section of the path (to the health centre), and part of the lovely stone wall was obscured again. On the other side of Park Road the brambles had grown in from the side, reaching the path. Saplings were encroaching further up. This time we paid more attention to the 20 metres or so of path to the south of the A420, going to Wicklesham. So, we decided to spruce it up before it worsened. The photos show before and after the work.
We are particularly keen to maintain this path as it is used by so many people on a daily basis.
All being well it won’t need doing for another three years.
