The swimming pool at Faringdon Leisure Centre will be closed over the Christmas period for urgent maintenance work to the roof.
From 21-28 December the pool will be out of use so that essential work can be carried out on the steel roof support beams which are above the pool.
During this time the rest of the leisure centre will remain open, and customers will be able to continue using the other facilities.
Vale of White Horse District Council and their leisure contractors GLL, have taken the decision to carry out the maintenance work during this period as traditionally it is the quietest time of year for the centre.
Cllr. Helen Pighills, Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities at Vale of White Horse District Council said: “We understand that some users of the pool may be disappointed with the closure but by having the work done at this time we know there will be as little disruption for customers as possible.
“If people still fancy a Christmas swim the pools at Wantage Leisure Centre and the White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre in Abingdon will be open.”
