Preventing flood damage to homes.
A Flood Fair being organised in Oxfordshire at the end of October.
Unfortunately floods have become a regular feature of the British winter in recent years, which is why our emergency responders have been attending public events across the county to promote resilience and preparation to the residents of Oxfordshire. This activity will culminate in a flood protection event at the West Oxford Community centre on Friday 31st October.
Oxfordshire’s Flood Fair will provide the public with practical flood advice and assistance for their homes, businesses, and communities. The event will offer support with applying for the £5,000 repair and renewal grant, guidance on building flood plans, and setting up a community emergency plan.
There will also be a chance to talk to Oxfordshire’s Fire & Rescue service and ask any questions regarding their flood defence equipment. The National Flood Forum will also be joining us with a selection of fantastic flood protection products, and giving advice on which protection methods would be suitable for your home.
This event has been organised with our partners:
Oxfordshire County Council, Environmental Agency, Oxford City Council, South and Vale District Councils, OCC Trading Standards, Oxford Flood Alliance and South Hanney’s Flood Group will be attending to answer and questions and offer support.
This event is open to all Oxfordshire residents, particularly those affected by floods and we would really appreciate your support.
Be ready for floods – we look forward to seeing you and your residents at the Oxfordshire’s Flood Fair.
